I I ordered a petite, and it easily comes to my hips. It's a casual sweater. It is not fitted. It's very comfortable, however, and just right for throwing on over a pair of jeans.

I have gotten several of the shaker pullover sweaters in Petite Large. They seem to get shorter and shorter. Is there something someone could tell me whether that's true? I'd really like them to be longer, just like the first two I got.

BEST ANSWER: I bought this sweater last year in XL and it was a good length until I washed (cold water) and dried (low heat) it then it was too short. This sweater has cotton in it so I think that's why it shrunk up and probably should give it away since I don't wear it anymore because of the shortness.
