After spending hours and hours online in a search for a solid color muumuu dress styled like this one, I found none other and decided to order this in the deep blue color, size M/L. I truly, truly like this dress.
For comparison, I am small-boned, medium-size, about 5'2" and 118 lbs., and find the dress just right for me. The fabric is medium weight, easy care, and can be worn all year round, with layers in the winter. You could even sleep in it.
The square neckline yoke is comfortable. The body of the dress is essentially a six-gore, A-line skirt, which allows the dress to flow more gracefully than a straighter style. The sweep of the M/L hem is about 96 inches.
The elastic on the sleeve openings was tight. It fit my wrist, but not my upper arm. I wet the ends of the sleeves and stretched them over two inverted Mason jars, and left them to dry overnight. Now the elastic is just right for my upper arms. If it should become necessary in the future, I would replace the elastic with longer pieces.
This dress would be nice in other medium-weight, textured fabrics, and in solid colors like hunter green, maroon, dark purple, navy, slate blue, or deep teal.
This is the first muumuu that I have ever owned, but it certainly will not be the last. I have ordered five more of this dress!

I received the cobalt blue dress. I will have to redo the sleeves since they are tight. The dress was a little long on me I'm 5'3" but that too will not be a problem since I can sew. I put this dress in the washing machine and it did fade so I would recommend you wash it by itself before wearing. Remove the dress when it is 3/4 dry and hang it for continued drying. You don't have to iron it then. Be sure to throw in a Bath towel in the dryer too. This will create the fabric to be less wrinkled....well that and some fabric softener.
Love the color and with white jewelry....it will be perfect. Thanks TOG

Rated 5 out of 5 by karenbeauty Comfortable and looks very nice
Fabric seems to be of good quality; a little hot for summer days, but for fall and winter will be just right. Very comfortable to wear - not too much fabric to get in the way, but enough to feel swingy and hang nicely. I wear from XL to 3X, depending on the clothing; the XL fit my shoulders perfectly and looks very nice. Fortunate to find this on sale, otherwise, may be a little pricey. Very happy with purchase and colors - periwinkle and aqua.

Returning this garment even though the color was beautiful. The L-XL was sized more like a 3W!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FOREVER39 BEST BUY IN THE CATALOG!!
I HAVE PURCHASED THIS SAME DRESS FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 YEARS, BEGAN WITH ANOTHER COMPANY WHICH WAS MERGED WITH TOG SHOP. THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST VERSATILE DRESS AND THE COTTON FABRIC IT IS MADE UP IN WEARS AND WEARS. I AM WEARING STILL THE FIRST ONE I EVER BOUGHT! WHEN YOU LAUNDER THE DRESS(ES), YOU HAVE BUT TO DRY THEM ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND THEN HANG TO DRY AFTER THAT. NO IRONING AT ALL!! I HAVE ONE OF EVERY COLOR AS A NEW COLOR IS ADDED EVERY YEAR OR TWO. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE NEWER DRESSES DO NOT HAVE THE SAME FULLNESS. EVEN THAT HASN'T DETERRED ME FROM BUYING ANOTHER NEW COLOR! I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT YEAR'S CATALOG TO SEE WHAT NEW COLOR HAS BEEN ADDED!

Rated 3 out of 5 by WowmoM76 I do really like the colors.
Dear Tog Shop,
You have been insistent, so I will tell you what I think. I ordered the Captiva Float in all four colors and in two different sizes, two in the largest size and two in the next smaller size. I was planning to decide which size fit me best and then return the two that were not the right size and order those two colors in the correct size for me.
Let me say to begin that I love the colors of all the Captiva Floats. I couldn?t decide which I liked and which I didn?t. So pretty quickly I decided to have one of each.
As to the size issue, I first thought the largest size was entirely too large for me. It seemed to billow every which way. Then I tried the smaller size. It was somewhat better, not quite as much like a product of Omar the Tent Maker as the other one. However the elasticized sleeves were too tight for comfortable wearing. I decided I would have to take the elastic out of the sleeves and either leave the sleeves flopping or replace the elastic with a longer piece. I thought that solution was not totally satisfactory, since both ideas required more seam ripping and sewing than I really wanted to do. I focused too much on the "flowy" description when I should have concentrated on the "voluminous sweep." But bear in mind that I really liked the colors.
Wearing the smaller size I found it was still was more billowy than I really liked. I wished the material were not so heavy-weight, and more able to drape around the figure of the wearer. I would like either size better with more drape-y fabric. I do like the texture of the material but it is too stiff to conform to the body inside it at all. Now I realize that a float is supposed to ?float? away from the wearer?s body. But this fabric made me feel like I was wearing a sail. I toyed with the idea of washing the dresses and twisting them to make them more pliable. Not sure I liked that idea either. I considered smocking the front and rear bodices of the dresses to draw in the volume somewhat. But I don?t really know how to smock so . . . . I thought I might add some tiny stitched down pleats just below the bust to control the volume of the dress. This too was more sewing than I really wanted to do and I blanched at the idea of taking them to my tailor to fix them. The cost of tailoring added to the cost of the dresses and the cost of shipping and handling was daunting to say the least. Still I really really liked the colors.
I decided not to return the larger dresses because any alterations I made on the two smaller dresses I could do on the larger dresses as well, and each size had a different fit problem for me. I was reluctant to give up on them entirely because, as I said, I really really really liked the colors.
This thought brings me to the price for value consideration. I accepted the published price of the dresses as being in line with what other retailers were charging. However, I thought the price for shipping and handling was outrageous. That bit of dissatisfaction alone will make me think twice or three times or four times before I order from you again. There are too many other places to shop, on line or otherwise, that do not charge anywhere near your prices for shipping and handling. Many places ship for free and still keep their prices down.
So that is what I think. I?ll keep the dresses this season and if I cannot solve the fit problem I?ll donate them to my church?s rummage sale next spring and chalk this up to a learning experience. Someone else will really, really, really like the colors I'm sure.
